01. What's the story behind the name of your book?

All women have curves, but my heroine, Kasey Mitchell, has DANGEROUS CURVES. She's a funny, sexy, full-figured woman who enjoys life to the fullest.

02 What do you love most about this book and want readers to take away with them?

I love the idea of the heroine, Kasey, and the hero, Holt, connecting with the land and the Native American culture. In a world of computers, the beauty of nature is often limited to the screensaver on our monitors. Kasey and Holt rediscover their love for each other as well as helping the environment.

On a different level, Kasey learns to love herself and not apologize for being a real-sized woman.

03. If this book were to be made into a movie, whom would you choose for your lead actors?

Kasey Mitchell, a real-sized woman, 30s, sexy: Renee Zellweger at her Bridget Jones weight.

Holt Astin: Native American, middle 30s, lawyer: Tom Berenger.

04. Describe a typical writing day for you. Set the scene for us.

I write at night, when the air is still and the ocean roars, wrapping me up in its power.

05. How long have you been writing and what got you started?

I have written articles for magazines, non-fiction books, plays, radio shows and commercials, children's and daytime television.

06. Do you have a particular place you like to be when you’re writing?

I live close to the beach in Southern California and I often check out the waves before sitting down at the computer.

07. Do you use an outline or do you plot out your story?

I use a short outline with the plot points figured out, though the story develops as I write it.

08. Is your story plot or dialogue driven?

Both. Since I've written a lot for the visual media, dialogue is very important to me, but without a good story, they're just "talking heads."

09. Tell us about your story.

DANGEROUS CURVES combines both a strong family story (Kasey and her nine-year old son, Logan, and her widowed sister, Allie), along with a sexy hero (Holt), rooted in the real problems faced by all of us--but with a "what if" twist. What if you could become a supermodel overnight? Kasey wins a contest and becomes a plus-size model and learns firsthand about the ups and downs of the modeling biz.

10. Unrelated to writing, what are your favorite foods and why? (Gleaned this one from my interviewer and thought it was fun.)

I've traveled extensively, but I always go back to Italy and pizza. I think the best pizza I ever had was in Naples after spending all day on a dig at Herculaneum. Pizza ala prosciutto. Mama mia!
