What in your opinion makes a good writer?
“A good writer in my opinion is one who loves a good story and loves to write a good story.”
Does your background include any special training/education in writing?
“No special training, just a love of books and romance in particular.
Were you an avid reader as a child and what was your favorite book or series of books?
“Yes, I was. I will read cereal boxes and labels if no books are available.”
Do you outline your plot, characters before you begin or does your story take on a life of its own?
“My stories evolve as I write.”
What do you do to further your growth as a writer?
“I read books on writing techniques and try to keep up with current trends. I also attend writers conferences when possible.”
Name three books you particularly enjoyed reading.
“Contrary to many peoples opinions, I did and still do enjoy Danielle Steele’s books. “Gone With The Wind truly inspired me as really great romance, and also because Margaret Mitchell was supposed to be some sort of distant relative. (I like to think I might have inherited some talent from her.)”
Do you tell people, “I’m a writer”, and what is their reaction?
“Yes, and sometimes they are awed and excited to meet a “real” writer.”
Do your future plans include writing in another genre?
“I already do write in other genres. I published three Young Adult novels with a German publisher some years ago. One romance and two horror thrillers. Also I published three novels and three novellas with Zebra’s now defunct line “TO LOVE AGAIN”.
Any advice for beginning writers?
“Never give up!”
Are you currently working on another project?
“Yes. I’m presently working on another contemporary romance and an idea for a Young Adult series.”
