Foster, Prudence

Prudence Foster has studied history and the occult for years. She traveled to Port au Prince and Cap Haitien, Haiti where she interviewed a bocor and attended voodoo rites. In Chichen Itza,Mexico, she participated in a séance at the cenote where humans were sacrificed at the Mayan ruins. In Cartagena, a 90-year-old medium read the Tarot cards for her and she travels regularly to Cassadaga, Florida, a village of channelers and mediums. As a journalist she has interviewed leading psychics including the late Jeane Dixon. Devil Eyes is Ms. Foster’s third published horror novel and twenty-third published book.

Her other horrornovels include Blood Legacy from PocketBooks and The Vow from Leisure Books. Prudy is also the author of Murder a la Carte punbished in hard cover by Archebooks and in paper by Harlequin Worldwide Mysteries, A Grave Injustice published in hardcover and 101 Tips on Writing and Selling Your first Novel. In addition, she has lectured and conducted writing workshops throughout the United States and in Canada.

Her histories include Beyond the Avenue: The History of Belfair Plantation, Bluffton, SC: Where the Eagles Soar: The History of HarbourRidge Yacht and Country Club Stuart, FL; The History of Oceanside Country Club, Ormond Beach, FL. Her first, Lee County: A Pictorial History, was published by Donning in 1985. A native of Florida, she lives in Delray Beach, Florida with four spoiled cats and works in Boca Raton as a project editor with Taylor and francis, LLC, an international academic publisher. Ms Foster is a graduate of Stetson University, Deland, FL and the University of Florida, Gainesville, FL. She is active in the Palm Beach County Chapter of Mensa, three critique groups—ANRALD, the Bloody Pens,and the Magnificent Mensa Scribes, and an active member of the Horror Writers of America.
