Damato, Nancy Minnis

Born in the midwest, Nancy engaged in teaching, worked as staff to state and federal agencies, and then began an insurance agency. Through all of this, she dreamed of becoming an author. For awhile short stories quieted that yearning. Finally, when all the children left, the time came to get serious. “I spent hours reading the best and worst of authors, studying the craft of writing. I worked to learn how to give my readers the best experience I could.” After years of classes, workshops and research, she began writing about the characters that had taken up residence in her mind. “Writing is solitary in the real world, but shut away in a room with four, ten, a dozen characters all saying ‘tell my story’ at once causes quite a din.
